JOEY BAGGZ GEMS AND JEWELS
INTRODUCTION


Joey Baggz Gems and Jewels is a custom jewelry shop specializing in the cutting of fine gemstones and the manufacture and sale of fine jewelry. A "bricks and mortar" retail store, we are located at 41 S. Loudoun St. in Winchester, Virginia, on the historic downtown walking mall. 

Rich in history, Winchester is located in the very northern tip of the Commonwealth, often called the "top of Virginia."  Some of the attractions here in our fair city are George Washington's headquarters dating to his activities as a surveyor prior to and during the French and Indian War, Stonewall Jackson's headquarters during the Civil War, in addition to numerous battlefields and historical points of interest that abound in the Shenandoah Valley.  As an aside, Loudoun Street, on which Joey Baggz Gems and Jewels resides, changed hands seventy times during the Civil War. 

And, Winchester is noted as the home of legendary country singer, Patsy Cline.  She lived in a house a couple blocks over from our little shop.

BACKGROUND


In both A Bridge to Nowhere, Memories, Morals, Martinis, and the Myth of the Promiscuous Man, and the upcoming publication of Fire and Lace, the author acquaints us with his oldest and dearest friend, "Uncle" Joey.  The main character in A Bridge to Nowhere, and one of the prominent figures in Fire and Lace,  Joey is known not only for the products he offers, but also the wisdom he imparts. 

As an occupation, Joey is a jeweler and Tony is a silent partner in his store, having helped him get it started when Joey first decided to settle down and walk the straight and narrow.  Hence the name, "Joey Baggz Gems and Jewels." 

So, for the fun of it, we thought we would offer an array of the products of Joey's talents here on our website. In addition, we offer a series of informational tidbits found in a weekly column of jewelry buying tips entitled "Straight From The Shoulder."

We hope that you find Tony and Joey's words and products informative and edifying.
